General Info
At New Freedom Family Medicine, we are committed to providing you with services to help you live your best life. Beyond the care included with membership under our Family Medicine plan, we offer a range of specialized procedures and ancillary services to enhance your healthcare needs.
While we offer these services to the public, our members enjoy special pricing. And as a direct primary care (DPC) practice, don’t bill insurance or Medicare for your treatment services. However, if you have insurance and we need to send a test out for pathology, we may bill your insurance. This is the only time we bill insurance. To see treatment costs, please view our price list.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections are prepared by taking one to a few tubes of your blood. While you are in the office, the blood is spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. The platelets are then injected directly into your diseased or injured body tissue. Because PRP has growth factors and cellular signaling factors, these injections can accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints. Also, because PRP is from your blood, it’s a safe product and poses a lower risk of rejection.
Suggested uses for PRP include:
- Orthopedic conditions
- Pain management
- Soft tissue repair
- Wound management
- Cosmetic rejuvenation
At New Freedom Family Medicine, we use a special system developed by Enso Doctors that enables the potential for multiple injections per treatment. This approach helps make PRP an affordable treatment option.
Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)
Like platelet rich plasma, platelet rich fibrin (PRF) is prepared by drawing a few tubes of your blood. While you are in the office, we spin your blood in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets and growth factors. Then we use the resorbable matrix to speed the healing of both soft and hard tissues. Unlike PRP, PRF provides a slow release of growth factors that we can measure in days.
Suggested uses for PRF include
- Diabetic ulcers
- Chronic wounds
- Acute wounds
- Dermatological removal wounds
- Hair regrowth
If you are suffering from hair loss, ask us about our new Alma TED treatment, an alternative to PRF.
Allergy Testing
Millions of people suffer from allergies, and many of them manage their condition by avoiding allergens or taking medication to mask symptoms. But New Freedom Family Medicine believes that patients have the option to change their allergic condition. We offer allergy testing and sublingual immunotherapy through Allergychoices.
First, we perform a skin test to identity the allergens that trigger an allergic reaction. If patients are on allergy medication, we recommend stopping medicines for five to seven days to ensure an accurate test. Based on your test results, we will prescribe custom oral drops placed under the tongue. These drops are given in gradually increasing doses and help the body build a tolerance to the substances that cause the allergies. Then, repeat testing is done every six to 12 months. Patients take allergy drops three times a day for three to five years. While some patients with more severe allergies may need more prolonged treatment, many people feel improvement by the next allergy season.
Physicians from around the world have prescribed allergy drops for over 100 years. And the World Health Organization has endorsed sublingual immunotherapy as an alternative to allergy shots. Also, several other studies show that allergy drops are safe and effective. Some benefits of allergy drop treatment include:
- For patients of all ages
- Treats the cause of allergies not just the symptoms
- Affordable and convenient than other allergy therapies
- Better quality of life
- Ideal option for those who can’t tolerate or are unable to get allergy shots
- Treat multiple allergens, including dust, pollen, foods, and animal dander
- Different dosing levels depending on patient age
DOT Physicals
A Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination is required for many who drive commercial vehicles. Only doctors certified by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and listed in the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners can conduct a DOT physical and issue a certificate. Dr. Allen is DOT certified.
We regularly perform this physical for members and non-members. However, members enjoy significant savings. During your appointment, we will review your medical history and conduct a standard physical exam covering:
- Eyes, ears, mouth, throat
- Skin
- Heart
- Lungs and chest
- Abdomen
- Back/spine
- Extremities and joints
- Genitourinary system
- Neurological system
- Vascular system
- Gait
We will also check for any current clinical diagnoses or established medical history for diabetes, cardiovascular disease, past surgeries, sleep disorder, among others.
Vasectomy
A vasectomy is a safe surgical procedure that makes a man unable to father a child. And it’s the most effective form of birth control for men. The procedure is performed by disrupting the flow of sperm in the vas deferens. Having a vasectomy should be considered a permanent decision. And it’s an outpatient procedure done in the office.
Medical Marijuana Certification
Medical marijuana refers to the use of certain ingredients from the marijuana plant to treat illnesses, diseases, or chronic pain. Tetrahydocannabinol (THC) and cannadidiol (CBD) are the two main compounds from the plant typically used for medical marijuana. While we do not dispense or prescribe medical marijuana, we determine if patients qualify for a medical marijuana card that can be used at a dispensary.
Even though rigorous scientific research is lacking in the efficacy of medical marijuana, there is substantial anecdotal evidence of its benefits for certain conditions. To qualify for medical marijuana in Missouri, you must have one of the following chronic conditions specified by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services:
- Cancer
- Epilepsy
- Glaucoma
- HIV or AIDS
- A terminal illness
- Intractable migraines unresponsive to other treatment
- Multiple sclerosis, seizures, Parkinson’s disease, or Tourette’s syndrome
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Hepatitis C, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s disease, Huntington’s disease, autism, neuropathies, sickle cell anemia, agitation of Alzheimer’s disease, cachexia, and wasting syndrome
For medical marijuana certification, you must provide medical records from your primary care doctor or from the diagnosing psychiatrist. If you don’t have medical records, a full consultation with Dr. Allen may be arranged. This visit will be an extensive review and usually lasts an hour or more.
Vitamin Injections
Vitamins are essential for overall health and wellness. At New Freedom Family Medicine, we’ve partnered with The Well Infusion Lounge to bring you a full line of vitamin injections. Unlike oral supplements, vitamin injections don’t go through the digestive system where the body may not absorb them or excrete them too quickly. For slower absorption, we give our IV vitamin injections in the muscle (IM, or intramuscular) or under the skin (subcutaneously).
We offer the following vitamin injections:
- Focus – to improve energy, concentration, and mood
- Immune – for boosting immunity and supporting a healthy mood
- Energy/Thyroid – to support adrenals and thyroid glands
- Stress – for stress relief and healthy adrenal activity
- Sleep – to reduce muscle aches, tension, and support healthy sleep
- Sunshine – for supporting vitamin D levels, boosting the immune system, and supporting a healthy mental state
These vitamin injections are administered by medical staff and healthcare professionals trained in vitamin therapies. And all the vitamins are 100% preservative-free and methylated, a process that’s vital for the proper functioning of your body and overall health.
IV Vitamin Infusions
IV vitamin infusion therapy gives a high concentration of liquid vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, and amino acids directly to the bloodstream. The infusion involves placing an IV line into a vein in your arm. While the therapy may be for one vitamin or several nutrients, infusions typically take 45 minutes.
We’ve partnered with The Well Infusion Lounge to offer the following vitamin infusions:
- Acute Migraines – to help break the migraine cycle
- Hangover – to help with morning recovery (take before a night out)
- The Myer’s – for helping boost immunity
- Sports Recovery – for stamina, quick muscle recovery, and energy
- Hydration – to help skin, organs, and good body function
- Detox Boost – to accelerate the detoxification process
- Post Illness Recovery – to help hydrate, replenish, and support the immune system
Like the vitamin injections, our IV vitamin infusion are administered by medical staff and healthcare professionals trained in vitamin therapies. And all the vitamins are 100% preservative-free and methylated, a process that’s vital for the proper functioning of your body and overall health.
